Indoor and outdoor kitties think the same?

Posted by carol on September 6, 2008

If anyone know me and my husband, they know we love animals.

Especially cats. We have a few indoor ones, all different personalities, which can make for a household of fun!

So when this little outdoor guy decided to adopt us, we had no choice but to accept the job!

randiWe were out on our (sorry, Randy’s) deck the other night, and I noticed he had no one to play with. (He usually converses through the window at our indoor babies, but when they get bored, off they go!)

So I got him a toy mouse to play with. He wasn’t sure of it at first (it was red with a white tail), but soon started batting it around. Having a good time!

Then I asked my husband, I wonder if he’ll put the mouse in the food dish like our indoor kitties do. I know cats have an instinct to keep their food in one safe spot. (at least I think this is why our kitties put the toys in their food dishes)

Anyway, I no sooner spoke the words and “plop” right in the food dish the mouse went! (What do you think? Did he hear what I said and just want to entertain me?)

It is very neat to see the similarity even though they are in “different” worlds!

Help your local animal shelters!

Posted by carol on February 10, 2007

It’s cold outside, and the shelters are probably overwhelmed with loving little hearts that need a nice warm home. Before going to any pet store, check out the shelters first. They are doing wonderful jobs taking care of these pets, so you can have a loving animal to call your own.

Cat proof headsets

Posted by carol on March 4, 2006

bootstazAs all you cat people know at one time or another have had our kitties chew through the wires of our headsets, sometimes while we are wearing them.

We have found the best (so far) pair of headsets to use so this stops the problem of going out and buying tons of headsets.

Taz is our cat that chews EVERYTHING from metal on the office chairs to plastic chair cushions. And of course, headset wires.

headsetWe found that the RCA headset (pictured here) have the best wires to prevent Taz from actually chewing through them before it’s too late.

Try them! They run around $10.00 a piece. The number is HP242

Have fun, and happy listening!
