Baby Calico has so much energy! It’s fun to watch her play!

Jumping, running, pouncing! She does it all!

Enjoy her playing with Shoes, one of her favorites “toys”.

Yoda loves Randi!

Posted by carol

We found out since this video that Randy is a Randi, so this must be why Yoda was trying to “break the kitty into” the house! Enjoy!

Oh NO!

Who is Marvin?

This is Marvin. He is one of Randi’s kittens, and after 4 months, they finally appeared (on the neighbors garage roof!) You see, Randi had them in the garage, and now there was no holding back. Marvin was the first on out and off the roof!

This is one of the first photo I captured as he was peaking up the steps at me. Cute little guy, huh?

When we got back from out of town, I was determined to pet both of Marvin and his sibling, so I’d sit on the porch with bowls of milk….and it worked! They didn’t mind me petting them! Great, maybe now I can capture them and get them a good indoor home!

Why do we miss him?

He is no longer with us. He died Oct 10th. I think he may have gotten into some poison. And God may have needed him in heaven to be a child’s pet.

The night before he died, both Marvin and his sibling both were running around the porch playing. But I noticed Marvin drinking alot of water. It didn’t hit me until the next day what happened.

We only got to spend a month with Marvin, but he was family. Now he is in “kitty” heaven with Taz. I know they will be okay.

But that doesn’t mean we miss them any less.

A Tribute to Taz! We love you!

Posted by carol

It has now been two months (Jan 12) since our “office manager” Taz went to kitty heaven.   We miss him so much. But we know his spirit is still with us.  Just ask the other cats in the house.  He is here often, to play and be mischievous!

tazHe and his brother Boots came to live with us early in June 2001.  And boy did he live up to his name…but in a sweet sort of “Tazmanian Devil” way.

Here is his “baby” photo that was taken in July 2001. He was only a few month old.

He was with us for 8 years, so all you animal lovers know what it’s like to lose a pet, it’s a family member.   But sometimes it is worse losing a pet than it is losing a human!

We were at odds on what to do.  We did not want to bury him, even though this has been his home place for eight years.  bootsWe did not want to leave him behind when we move.

Should we have him cremated and keep his ashes with us?

Then one day, very dear friend, Buz, sent us a lovely heart-felt email, and it helped us make up our mind.  Thank you Buz!  So we have Taz’s remains with us.  And his spirit is too!

Please read The Orange Blanket for more about Taz.

We miss you Taz, and we love you, and we know you will always be with us!

Indoor and outdoor kitties think the same?

Posted by carol

If anyone know me and my husband, they know we love animals.

Especially cats. We have a few indoor ones, all different personalities, which can make for a household of fun!

So when this little outdoor guy decided to adopt us, we had no choice but to accept the job!

randiWe were out on our (sorry, Randy’s) deck the other night, and I noticed he had no one to play with. (He usually converses through the window at our indoor babies, but when they get bored, off they go!)

So I got him a toy mouse to play with. He wasn’t sure of it at first (it was red with a white tail), but soon started batting it around. Having a good time!

Then I asked my husband, I wonder if he’ll put the mouse in the food dish like our indoor kitties do. I know cats have an instinct to keep their food in one safe spot. (at least I think this is why our kitties put the toys in their food dishes)

Anyway, I no sooner spoke the words and “plop” right in the food dish the mouse went! (What do you think? Did he hear what I said and just want to entertain me?)

It is very neat to see the similarity even though they are in “different” worlds!
