Indoor and outdoor kitties think the same?

Posted by carol on September 6, 2008

If anyone know me and my husband, they know we love animals.

Especially cats. We have a few indoor ones, all different personalities, which can make for a household of fun!

So when this little outdoor guy decided to adopt us, we had no choice but to accept the job!

We were out on our (sorry, Randy’s) deck the other night, and I noticed he had no one to play with. (He usually converses through the window at our indoor babies, but when they get bored, off they go!)

So I got him a toy mouse to play with. He wasn’t sure of it at first (it was red with a white tail), but soon started batting it around. Having a good time!

Then I asked my husband, I wonder if he’ll put the mouse in the food dish like our indoor kitties do. I know cats have an instinct to keep their food in one safe spot. (at least I think this is why our kitties put the toys in their food dishes)

Anyway, I no sooner spoke the words and “plop” right in the food dish the mouse went! (What do you think? Did he hear what I said and just want to entertain me?)

It is very neat to see the similarity even though they are in “different” worlds!

Want a inexpensive way to keep you kitties entertained AND help the wild birds?!

Do what we do.

Place a few bird feeders outside your windows and watch the fun!

(HBO - hot birds outside!)

Mom! What’s that smell????? (another litterbox problem)

Posted by carol on March 7, 2007

Is the litter perfumed???? You may think it smells nice, but your kitty may not.

Cats have a more sensitive sense of smell than we do. DO YOU LIKE OVERPOWERING perfume on

women, or cologne on men???

Think again.

Maybe your cat is telling you to get the unscented litter and clean it more often!

Litterbox follies

Have you ever wondered why your cat “misses” the litter box??

“Would you like to go in a dirty toilet? Well, me either! Keep my bathroom clean too!”

Your kitty may be telling you this. What does it take to clean? A couple scoops each time you walk past it. Only takes a few seconds, and it is much easier that trying to scoop DAYS worth out.
